This is a smooth sounding jazz song to give a feeling of a lounge, coffee shop, sophisticated daytime vibe or chill nighttime atmosphere.
The tune has enough length to be useful for extended background music, and evolves in a standard acid-jazz manner. There’s a piano solo at the end, an ethereal bridge section and plenty of urban groove throughout.
In the early 2000s Trip Hop music was quite popular (artists such as Bittersweet), and appeared on all sorts of programs, such as the Grey’s Anatomy theme, or Devil Wears Prawda. It pairs well with food and fashion. It reminds me of the kind of ‘cool jazz’ that’s played in sushi bars. Also useful as a podcast intro/outro.
